Mid-Ohio Thursday Track Time

On Thursday, May 30, get valuable time on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course through The Mid-Ohio School.  Three different track time opportunities are coming up prior to the Ohio Valley Region SCCA Double National.  The below options are perfect for scrubbing some tires, calibrating the brakes, fine tuning your race car or adding more performance to the driver’s seat!

Competition Course

Licensed competitors get 3 hours, 10 minutes of track time split into four sessions in this “coached” test day (final amount depends on number and type of cars entered).  Learn tips for running faster and being more competitive on Mid-Ohio from our instructors.  The day starts off with a detailed track walk with The Mid-Ohio School instructors.  Registration/check-in begins at 7 a.m.  Price is $695.

Open Testing & Tuning – Full-Day Session

Held during the full-day Competition Course, participants receive 1 hour, 55 minutes of track time broken into four sessions (final amount depends on number and type of cars entered).  Very limited instructor feedback is offered compared to the Competition Course.  Price is $400.  Registration/check-in begins at 7 a.m.

Open Testing & Tuning - Twilight Session

This is not exclusive to SCCA competitors but another possibility for your scheduling flexibility.  Again, each group will receive at least three 20-minute sessions of track time (approx. 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. run time)  Price is $195.  Those entered in the OVR SCCA National can enroll for a special price of $150 through 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 29, by using promotional code “OVRMay13”.  When placing an order online, enter in the coupon code box in Step 1 of 8 of the enrollment process.  (Other Open Testing & Tuning Twilight Sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, May 22; Wednesday, June 12; Thursday, July 25; Thursday, August 22; Wednesday, September 18; and Thursday, October 10.)

Additionally, exclusive SCCA Competitor Open Testing & Tuning Twilight sessions will occur on Friday, August 9 (preceding Cincinnati Region SCCA weekend), Friday, August 30  and Friday, October 4 (both preceding OVR SCCA weekends).  These are already specially priced at $150 for SCCA racers when ordering by 5 p.m. EDT the day prior.  Walk-up registrations the day of are $195.

My intent is to define what a PDX is, what is necessary to have a safe and enjoyable event, and some tips on driving this type of an event.
