OVR is very proud to receive an archive of photographs from Joel Topolosky and Ron Lester both former members of the Region. The photos are in the OVR Gallery. Many of them date back to the early 1970’s and probably a few are even earlier. There are photos from National Trail Raceway, the OLD Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course when Les Grebling owned it, Westland Shopping Center when we ran Solo events there, the old Powell Speedway which is now covered with a housing development and some locations that I haven’t identified yet. There are photos of cars, people, support vehicles, Mid-Ohio without guardrails, course marshals in shorts, a meeting in which the 5 point racing harness was apparently being introduced.

There are photos of banquets from the past: many people from the past; it’s fun to realize that some people in the club used to have dark hair and mustaches. There are cars from series that no longer exist and there are cars that have been running for 40 years and are still running. Ron and Joel claim that there are nearly 4000 photos in the archive and if you’ve been around for more that a couple of years, go looking for yourself and some of the people you used to hang around with.
