Welcome "home" to the Ohio Valley Region/Sports Car Club of America, Inc.

We have a place for every motor sports enthusiast – from timed precision driving events through pylons, to wheel-to-wheel hard-core racing competition, to working track side, or even the administration of our many activities – OVR offers you many different opportunities to fulfill your need for Speed! Are you a creative type? We even have a place for budding writers and photographers! We are driven by our membership, and we work hard to provide the best, safest, most professional amateur motor sports events in the country!

The Ohio Valley Region ("OVR") is a regional chapter of the Sports Car Club of America ("SCCA"), which is a national member-driven organization of motor sports enthusiasts. The SCCA sanctions autocross events and schools (Solo), "driver-against-the-clock" precision driving through pylons, with many different classes available for every type of car and most go-karts; road races (wheel-to-wheel competition) with a wide variety of classes available to cover every possible vehicle configuration; driver's schools where competitors can learn the basics of road racing, and potential workers can train and learn each of the different specialities at the race track; rallies (driver and navigator following a set of instructions to arrive at a final destination within a pre-set amount of time); and, we train and provide workers to support all of our SCCA-sanctioned events, as well as most professional races of many other sanctioning bodies.

Auto racing is the fastest growing spectator sport in the country, with more sanctioning bodies than you can shake a stick at, and differing racing series for every possible "taste" in speed. Everybody is familiar with NASCAR, and most people are familiar with the CART series and Indy Cars (now known as the IRL). But, did you know that drivers such as Mario and Michael Andretti, Bobby Rahal, Sarah Fisher, and Paul Newman all got their start as members of the SCCA?

Why don't you come out and "start" with us, too?

No matter what your interest in motor sports, from low-speed precision driving, high-speed competition, or learning car control, to an afternoon drive with a friend; your budget constraints or your personal skills – even writing and photography – we can always find a place for you here in the Ohio Valley Region of the SCCA.

There are a number of features on this web site, including a new frequently asked questions ("FAQ") page, where we answer some of the most common questions we have received through our "Contact Us" page. If you're thinking about getting involved in the SCCA, the FAQs are a good place to start. If you have any other questions after you've read through the FAQ page, please use the "Contact Us" form to e-mail us your question. (Please note: if it's a racing weekend, it may take a day or two for us to respond!)

There are a number of Adobe® pdf files on our web site: forms, results, and even our region's monthly magazine, The Observer's Stand, and you will need Adobe Adobat Reader® to use these files. For most efficient use of Adobe files, we suggest that you highlight the hyperlink (underlined text) for the file you want, and right click with your mouse, and then select "save target as" to save the file to your hard drive. You can type your information directly onto most of our forms, and then print them!
